Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Leah Johnson, OD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA

Dr. Leah Johnson’s experience and expertise in optometry position her as a highly qualified optometrist, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care in specialty contact lenses and myopia management.

Dr. Johnson holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston. Dr. Johnson completed her post-doctorate fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the University of Houston, College of Optometry.

Throughout her career, Dr. Johnson has held key positions that have allowed her to make an impact in the field of orthokeratology (ortho-k) and myopia management. She was Director of Clinical Services and Global Professional Services for Paragon Vision Sciences in Gilbert, Arizona. There she supported doctors in prescribing ortho-k lenses to thousands of patients. Her expertise extended internationally as she trained over 700 doctors in ortho-k across the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Israel, Australia, China, Singapore, Korea, Colombia, and Brazil. Dr. Johnson’s dedication to advancing the field of specialty contact lenses led her to the role of Director of Professional Affairs for CooperVision Specialty EyeCare Americas. Dr. Johnson currently serves as Sr. Manager of Myopia Management for CooperVision.

In addition, Dr. Johnson maintains an active role as Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the University of Houston, furthering her commitment to education and mentorship. In this capacity, she delivers lectures to students and faculty members on various topics in specialty contact lenses while providing clinical guidance to optometry students in the clinic.

Dr. Johnson’s expertise is recognized and respected in the professional community. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on orthokeratology and specialty contact lenses. Her professional achievements have earned her fellowships in organizations such as the American Academy of Optometry, British Contact Lens Association, and Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Johnson was honored as a Rising Star in Vision Monday’s 2021 “Most Influential Women in Optical".
